New work

Redesign Veronica Magazine

Veronica Magazine is a weekly entertainment magazine. Designtree was asked to redesign it. We created a simple yet effective set of articles, lay-outs and grids that would keep the entertainment look and feel, but help readers navigate through the magazine better.

Rebranding a magazine

Behind the scene

For the last two months Designtree has been working on the rebranding of Relax: a magazine of Prominent, specialist in relax chairs. Designtree won a pitch in 2015 for the redesign of the magazine. This year a team of G+J Custom Content and I got together to really finetune the identity. We created a content strategy, collected the best of items, had an in dept meeting with the client and put in a new collection of fonts. We believe the result is there. Relax #2 will be out end of March 2015. So stay tuned for more news soon.

Pitch winning redesign

New client on board

Prominent, a specialist in relax chairs, invited G+J Media to participate in a pitch for the redesign of their magazine. The assignment was to create a lifestyle magazine that would change people's opinion about orthopedic chairs.

G+J Media invited Designtree to create the concept. With that concept we won the pitch allowing us to create a first edition of the magazine, working with existing copy and photo's. This is a glymps of the issue.

New Work: Powerful heroes

Kracht of KWF Kankerbestrijding

Yes, it's that time again: here's the latest edition of Kracht, the free magazine of KWF Kankerbestrijding. It's the last issue I made with editor in chief Resi Lankester who I had the pleasure of working with for the past six years. We will miss you!

This issue is full of heroes like Rogier who walked 24 hours in honor of his father who died in 2012. Or little man Mason (on the cover of Kracht) who survived cancer thanks to a donor. Have a look at the magazine here and tell me what you think.

Weapons of Reason, a free initiative

The people of the London based design agency Human After All, created Weapons of Reason; an own four-year publishing project, a magazine to explore the biggest challenges shaping our world. Their goal isn’t to provide answers, but instead ask the right questions and inspire people to join the dots for themselves. The magazine is designed beautifully, using the work of illustrators, Jean Jullien and Adrian Johnson. 'The Arctic’ is the debut issue. The magazine is free, but by buying a copy through the site you're supporting the project. Well done.
